oh man I want that one i have the same strain.Yours must be bred closer or line bred cause my roosters dont come speckled breasted.They are really good or i am really lucky tho!!lol let me know how you got yours to look like that please!!!

These all come colored like this or black greys. The hens look like redquill hens but silver instead of gold or like a brownred but silver neck instead of gold. According to the history I can find this strain began as a cross of madigan grey and madigan texas ranger. Which seems logical judging by their color. But they can flat get it done regardless of color sure is nice having purdy fowl that can also perform. These came from hugh rudd he purchased all his brood fowl from hugh norman in 1967 and 68. To my knowledge there has been no new blood added. I have a friend that has normans whitehackles, mcleans, lacys, and laws. And I know the gentleman that still maintains all of mr. Rudds fowl.

Well thank you for that sir. Maybe mine have some other law in them cause they all come black breasted and silver backed.I have gotten some "off" colored pullets out of them tho.Regardless pure or not they do good for me and cross real well on my mcleans and murphy

i can remember dr. belcher, showing these cocks at elkhorn city and they got it done quick, only his showed more dark faces, could have been something he put in them, i no he had a family of dark fowl. nevertheless nice gray cock.
